You can take it by force if trying to fool someone into handing over their armor is not your forte. Eliminating different gamers, known as PKing from the game, will cause them to drop a lot of their stuff. This makes whatever goodies they were carrying are yours for the taking. There are, needless to say, protections against this kind of thing. The game could only be anarchy, individuals destroying each other at a battle for loot. Sort of like that starting sequence from Ready Player One but without all of the cool cameos. Players can only off one another publicly from the Wilderness.

The Wilderness is a giant part of the RuneScape world where anyone can be attacked by anybody. There are certain monsters and quests in the Wilderness. That means that, to genuinely advance in the game, everybody has to brave the Wilderness sooner or later. Additionally, it usually means that players have the best excuse to lure unsuspecting newbies. "Hey let's go to the Wilderness and train on this monster, it'll allow you to level quicker!" Before they know it, the player is following their more powerful"friend" into a trap.

Luckily, players that fulfill their end at the Wilderness still get to keep their three most precious items. Players who attack another player without provocation make a skull. Those who die with a skull fall everything, even their most precious items. There are ways to deceive a player into giving a skull, connected here to themselves and take.

This one is very similar to"Free Armor Trimming" however is considerably easier to pull off. The armor trimming trick usually necessitates the scammer to put on a costly set of armor, some sort of"example" of their job. Which may not be viable away. The scam"Doubling Money" only requires some extra gold, making it a scam which nearly everyone can do.
